Each have it’s own distinct character, Tobago tranquil, lay-backed and serene, Trinidad vibrant, boisterous and culturally diverse. Tobago is just 42 by 10 kilometers (26 by 7 miles) with the Caribbean Sea on the north side and the Atlantic on the south.

Tobago enjoys a warm tropical climate tempered by the north-east trade winds and is located 11 degrees north of the equator. Year round the climate is sunny and tropical with an average daytime temperature of 29C (83F).

Tobago is the unspoiled eco island of the Caribbean (Clean, Green & Serene). Deserted, white beaches fringed with coconut trees and beautiful reefs teeming with tropical fishes and amazing marine life. You will find sailing, snorkeling, scuba-diving, jet-skiing, windsurfing among other water sports. All within walking distance from Lord’s. Golfers have a choice of two international courses.

 click to enlargeOn the main ridge of Tobago you find the rainforest (protected since 1776) with a large variety of flora and fauna, inclusive of more than 200 birds, magnificent scenery and waterfalls.

Scarborough is the capital of Tobago – rich with history. High above town lies the British-build Fort King George, built in the early 1770’s, with it’s panoramic view over Scarborough, the Windward Coast, the Lowlands and the Caribbean Sea. The Heritage Park also features a little, interesting Museum, located in The Old Officers’ Mess.

Tobagonians are friendly and genuinely people that make you feel welcome on their island. Their hospitality and helpfulness is great.

We are only five minutes drive from the airport and 20 minutes from Scarborough. Bus- & taxi services are a mere 3 minutes walk away.

Events in Tobago: International Game Fishing (March, June); Plymouth Jazz Festival (4 days in April); Buccoo’s famous “Sunday School”; Sailing boat Competition; Easter Monday Sports at Mt. Pleasant Recreation Grounds; Easter Tuesday Goat and Crab Races at Buccoo, Tobago Heritage Festival (mid-July to 1st August); Harvest Festivals – the free eating, drinking and feting.

Local dishes: In keeping with its richly mixed heritage, Trinidad and Tobago has a huge variety of food, from Indian, Chinese, Creole, Arab and Italian. Tasty, local Tobagonian dishes like Crab and Dumplings, Buljol with Coconut bake (breakfast) and Callaloo soup are served all over the island.

One of the most popular snacks is the Roti. Curried meat, shrimp or vegetable folded into a soft dough wrapping (roti skin). The popular “Doubles” are sold from street vendors – curried chickpeas between discs of soft fried bread.
